Waldo Asp Endowed Scholarship

After Waldo Asp passed away in March of 2023, his dear friend Gunter Stein decided to establish an endowed scholarship in his name. Waldo was an original faculty member at Normandale, where he taught for 30 years. He initiated and ultimately became the department chair of the philosophy department. He also taught English, ethics, logic, and comparative religions. A strong work ethic and natural gregariousness were fundamental elements of Waldo's character. His greatest pleasure was derived from the camaraderie of sharing time and tasks with others.

Eligibility Criteria:
Financial need
Has completed at least two college-level philosophy courses with a passing grade

Notes:
Preference will be given to students who completed their courses at Normandale.
