Scholarship Description:
This scholarship honors the life and legacy of Dr. Oren Steinfeldt, a World War II veteran, graduate of the University of Minnesota who received his law degree from the University of Southern California. He served as the president of Everfresh Food Corporation. He was one of the founding community Faculty members of Metropolitan College and taught students at this new institution without any remuneration. He also served on the Alumni Board from 1979 to 1984.
Dr. Steinfeldt was an intelligent leader in the community combined engagement with education. He was a passionate advocate for increasing access to knowledge and skills for everyone, removing barriers to personal advancement with great compassion and care of all.
The Steinfeldt endowed scholarship seeks to enable undergraduate and graduate Metro State students to complete their education and acquire the knowledge to realize the value of their potential through a fulfilling career of their choice.
The funds are intended for use within the academic year.
Award average is $1500
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Applicant must be officially admitted to Metro State by application date
Be a student in good academic and conduct standing
Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
Be registered for a minimum of 9 credits for the semester in which the funds are applied
Must complete the Student Certification and Consent form
