Sit Academic Scholarship

Scholarship Description:

This scholarship award is provided through the generous contributions from Gene Sit of Sit Investment Associates.

Award amount averages $1,000.

Eligibility Criteria:

Be officially admitted to Metropolitan State University by scholarship application deadline date
Be an undergraduate student in good academic standing
Must be registered for a minimum of 3 credits for each of the semester(s) in which the funds are applied (generally Fall and Spring semesters)
Have a Metropolitan State University cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
Must submit an essay
Complete “Student Certification and Consent” form
Essay Question:

Please submit essay (minimum of 250 words, no more than two double spaced pages) to this application form answering the following essay question/topic:

Describe your educational plans and aspirations as a student at Metropolitan State University. Include information on how you have been or intend to be involved in community service and other information that will allow the selection committee to know and understand you better.
Metro State’s Writing Center tutors will be happy to consult with you on your scholarship essay. You may schedule an appointment by going to Tutoring and Testing Services at https://www.metrostate.edu/academics/success/tutoring. Once there, you can schedule your appointments. Be sure the requirements for the scholarship(s) you are applying for are available when you work with them.
