Norris & Rhoda Abts Transportation Scholarship

Overview
Norris began his career in education with Winona Area Vocational Technical School then part of Winona School District #861. Norris created a new 2-year auto mechanics diploma program. He taught for 9 years in that program and in 1969 was promoted to Trade and Industry Coordinator, and the following year was promoted to Assistant Director. Norris had a passion for growing the College’s Trade and Industry Programs, specifically transportation related programming. Abts retired after 29 years with the college in 1988. Because of his strong passion and dedicated service to vocational education, the new transportation building was named in his honor. Norris and Rhoda have been lifelong supporters of SE Technical College and were married for 59 years. In memory of Norris, Rhoda would like to continue the support of students in the transportation related fields of study.

Applicant must be taking at least 6 credits.
