Nancy Latimer Early Childhood Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Description:
The Psychology Department and the Metropolitan State University Foundation are pleased to announce this scholarship opportunity designated for junior or senior students majoring in Early Childhood Studies. Scholarship amounts generally average $2000 and will be awarded from the Nancy Latimer Early Childhood Endowed Scholarship established by The McKnight Foundation.
Awards are generally split evenly between Fall and Spring semesters.
Eligibility Criteria:
Be officially admitted to Metropolitan State University by scholarship application deadline date
Declared major as Early Childhood Studies in the Psychology Department at Metropolitan State
Must be a Junior or Senior
Must register for a minimum of 3 credits for the semester(s) in which the funds are applied
Must submit an essay
Have a Metropolitan State University cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
Complete “Student Certification and Consent” form
Essay Questions:
Please submit an essay (minimum of 250 words, no more than two double spaced pages) answering the following essay questions/topics:
Demonstrated culturally and linguistically diverse life experiences that will enhance your potential for success as a teacher of diverse young children
Demonstrated financial need and positive impact receiving a scholarship would have on your ability to accomplish your academic goals
Quality of academic record in completing required courses for the Early Childhood Studies Major
