Marion L. Johnson Endowed Reading Scholarship

This annual scholarship is created honoring the life of Marion L. Johnson. Marion was an elementary school teacher whose love of reading drove her passion to teach others to read. Marion believed reading was not only an essential life skill but also a gift for unlocking knowledge and other worlds for her students. Her daughter, Nancy M. Johnson EdD, wishes to honor her mother’s passion for reading by creating this legacy scholarship for Normandale students who share a hunger to discover, explore and learn the power of reading.

Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum enrollment of 6 credits
Financial need
Student in good standing in any course integrated with developmental reading (during semester of nomination)
Is a degree-seeking student

Students are selected for this scholarship by Reading faculty and do not apply.
