Marcia Anderson Thompson Scholarship

The award will be given to an accomplished student pursuing a career in English Education (Communication Arts and Literature Education). It is intended to recognize the student’s commitment to teaching and current accomplishments (e.g. academic, educational, volunteer service) while assisting the student in completing his or her studies in a timely and cost-effective manner. To qualify for consideration, a candidate must be majoring in English Education and have earned a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

The candidate must submit a letter of no more than two pages discussing (a) his/her academic and extracurricular achievements and (b) his/her career aspirations and how the award would facilitate reaching them. The candidate also should include two references who can address the student’s academic qualities.
