Scholarship Description:

Marilyn Loen, PhD, RN, served as Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Metro State’s nursing department values holistic health and healing. The American Holistic Nurses Association defines holistic nursing as “all nursing practice that has healing the whole person as its goal.” The principles of holism include unity, wellness and the interrelationship of human beings and their environment. Marilyn established the scholarship to encourage the practice of holistic nursing.

Average award is $800

Eligibility Criteria:

Be officially admitted to Metro State by scholarship application deadline date.
Pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree in nursing.
Registered for each semester(s) in which the funds are applied as at least a half time student (a minimum of 6 credits if an undergraduate student, or 4 credits if a graduate student)
Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
Submit a statement of 1 – 3 paragraphs.
Sign student consent form.
