LGBTQ and Allies Scholarship Fund

Overview
Scholarship Description:

The Metropolitan State University LGBTQ and Allies Scholarship Fund was established to recognize and empower those Metropolitan State students who demonstrate activism and leadership within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, and/or allied community within Metropolitan State University, the broader community, or both.

Average award is $1000

Eligibility Criteria:

Be officially admitted to Metropolitan State University by scholarship application deadline date
Be enrolled either full or part time at Metropolitan State University during the academic school year and specifically during the semester(s) in which the funds are applied.
Have a Metropolitan State University cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater
Must submit an essay
Complete “Student Certification and Consent” form
Essay Question:

Please submit an essay (minimum of 250 words, no more than two double spaced pages) addressing the following essay topic:

Describe your activism and leadership within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, and or allied community
Metro State’s Writing Center tutors will be happy to work with you on your scholarship essay. You may schedule an appointment by going to Tutoring and Testing Services at https://www.metrostate.edu/academics/success/tutoring. Once there, you can schedule your appointments. Be sure the requirements for the scholarship(s) you are applying for are available when you work with them. Applicant must have a cumulative 2.5 or greater GPA.
