Joseph E. Commers Endowed Scholarship Fund
Overview
Scholarship Description: These scholarship awards are provided through the generous contributions of 1982 alumnus Joseph Commers. Joe’s strong family values have allowed him to build a successful commercial real estate business along with his sons. His desire is to help current students overcome financial challenges and reach their goal of obtaining a degree. These funds support annual scholarships to undergraduate students.
Awards average around $1000.
Eligibility Criteria:
Be officially admitted to Metropolitan State University by scholarship application deadline date
Be an undergraduate student in good academic standing
Must be registered for a minimum of 3 credits for each of the semester(s) in which the funds are applied (generally Fall and Spring semesters).
Must submit an essay
Have a Metropolitan State University cumulative GPA of 2.50 or greater
Complete “Student Certification and Consent” form
Essay Questions:
Please submit an essay (minimum of 250 words, no more than two double spaced pages) answering the following essay questions/topics:
Describe your personal values, educational plans and aspirations as a student at Metropolitan State University. Include information on how you have been or intend to be involved in community service and other information that will allow the selection committee to know and understand you better.

Be sure the requirements for the scholarship(s) you are applying for are available when you work with them. Qualifications
Applicant must be an undergraduate.
Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
