John C. Burton Endowed Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Description:

This scholarship is established to honor John C. Burton, who, before his passing, had dedicated much of his life to education, arriving at Metropolitan State in 1987 as a student advisor. John was loved by the hundreds of students whom he advised. He retired from Metro State in 2011 after 24 years of service and was named professor emeritus.

Awards average around $1000.

Eligibility Criteria:

Be officially admitted to Metropolitan State University by scholarship application date
Must be a TREC student (you may be asked to upload a letter from the TREC Program to verify)
Must be registered for a minimum of 4 credits for in each of the semsters in which the funds are awarded
Have a Metropolitan State University cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater
Complete “Student Certification and Consent” form
