Herbert Collins Endowed Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Description:
This endowed scholarship fund was established to honor Herbert Collins, an engineer who advocated for students of color to finish their higher education degrees by his widow, Nadya. The scholarship is available to students with significant financial need who are math or science majors or can demonstrate a history of supporting persons of color in teaching them math or the sciences.
Awards average around $600.
Eligibility Criteria:
Be officially admitted to Metropolitan State University by scholarship application deadline date
Preference may be given to students of color
Be an undergraduate with a declared Math or Science major or a graduate student with an identified concentration in math or the sciences
Be registered for a minimum of 4 credits for the semester in which the funds are applied
Have a Metropolitan State University cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
Complete “Student Certification and Consent” form
Qualifications

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
