Golden Valley Crime Prevention Fund Scholarship

Scholarship Information
The GVCPF started an initiative in 2022 – a scholarship for law enforcement related degrees. The scholarship has been expanded to include people who pursue education in any public safety program.

To apply for the scholarship, the student must be a Golden Valley resident or city employee enrolled in a State College, University, Community College, Vocational or Technical Institute with the intention of obtaining a degree in public safety.

The GVCPF board will accept applications throughout the year with an application deadline of August 1st. A scholarship for $1,000 will be awarded by August 20 of every calendar year.

The student must submit a letter of interest (2-page maximum) to GVCPF that includes:

Contact Name, address, phone and email address
Brief biography
Career goals and interests
Description of community service/and or volunteerism and/or a leadership role
Interest in law enforcement, criminal justice, crime prevention or fire protection
Two letters of recommendation which include full name, street address including zip code, email and phone number
Must be enrolled in a university/college law enforcement or fire protection type course
Include your school ID number.
Make yourself available to receive your check, (including pictures).
The GVCPF feels that the scholarship is critical to future staffing for public safety type organizations. Please encourage family and friends of potential candidates to apply.
