George Floyd Memorial Endowed Scholarship For Racial and Social Justice
Overview
Scholarship Description:
This scholarship is available to undergraduate students who can demonstrate a commitment to racial equity and social justice. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits at Metropolitan State University in the semester(s) when they receive the scholarship. They must have a good academic and conduct record. Preference may be given to African American students.
Award amount is $2500.
Eligibility Criteria:
Be officially admitted to Metropolitan State University by scholarship application deadline date
Preference given to African American students
Be an undergraduate student in good academic standing
Be registered for a minimum of 6 credits for the semester in which the funds are applied
Must submit an essay
Complete “Student Certification and Consent” form
Essay Questions:
Please submit an essay (maximum 400 words) answering the following questions:
Describe your commitment to racial and/or social justice. This includes work related to food and housing insecurity, voting rights, education, economic disparities, health equity/disparities, etc.
Discuss how this commitment will guide you in future work.
