Freshman/Transfer Instrumental Music Talent
Description:
Freshman and Transfer students may be music majors or non-majors, but students receiving this scholarship are required to participate in an ensemble on the instrument (or within the vocal area) from which they received the scholarship throughout the award year.
Additional Requirements:
Live auditions on campus prior to March 1st are preferable but are not required. A prepared recording consisting of representative compositions (4-8 minutes in length) may be substituted. Accompanied performances are desirable but not required.
If you cannot come to campus for a live audition during a Scholarship Audition Day or on a privately scheduled date prior to March 1, create a Youtube video and email a link for the video directly to the School of Performing Arts a spa@mnstate.edu listing your name, contact information, and audition area (voice, guitar, trumpet, etc.). Attach a Music Resume that lists your instrument/vocal range, past and current ensemble participation (curricular and extracurricular), years of applied study, teachers, awards received, honors/achievements, service to your ensembles, school, and community.
