Freshman Music

Description:
This scholarship is awarded to a freshman of any major or minor. Recipients are required to participate in an ensemble on the instrument/vocal area from which they received the scholarship.

Additional Requirements:
Attach a Music Resume that lists your instrument/vocal range, past and current ensemble participation (curricular and extracurricular), years of applied study, teachers, awards received, honors/achievements, service to your department, school, and community.

Live auditions on campus prior to March 1st are preferable but are not required. A prepared recording consisting of representative compositions (4-8 minutes in length) may be substituted. Accompanied performances are desirable but not required.

If you cannot come to campus for a live audition during a Scholarship Audition Day or on a privately scheduled date prior to March 1, create a Youtube video and email a link for the video directly to the School of Performing Arts a spa@mnstate.edu listing your name, contact information, and audition area (voice, guitar, trumpet, etc.).
