Flora Oveson Women in Aviation Scholarship
Overview
This fund was established in 2015 by the Bong Book Club that congregates at the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center in Superior, Wisconsin. Flora was instrumental in starting the Book Club in 2004. Her passion was flying and she received her private pilot's license (land and sea) in 1987. She made numerous flying trips to Alaska in a single-engine Cessna 172.
ELIGILIBILITY
1. Preference giving to women in the aviation program
2. Must intend to complete a degree in Aviation.
3. May be a high school senior enrolling in LSC with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher; preference given to applicants in the Aviation program who are LSC students (part time or full time) in good standing with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.
4. Must demonstrate financial need, but not necessarily qualify for financial aid
