Dr. Franklyn and Anne Knox Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to incoming or returning students who are majoring in the Nursing program. Students must demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is renewable for the second year as long as recipient maintains good academic standing and remains in a nursing program. In 1971 Dr. Franklyn Knox served as chair of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the Mayo Medical School for nine years and in 1983 became dean of the medical school and director of education for the Mayo Foundation. He was named Mayo Foundation Distinguished Investigator in 1992 and earned the title of professor of physiology and medicine, in addition to heading the foundation's kidney research unit. In 2009 he received the Mayo Clinic Distinguished Alumni Award.
