Change the World Endowed Scholarship
Overview
Scholarship Description: This scholarship honors Amanda Richards, Community Faculty in Human Services undergraduate alcohol and drug counseling and graduate co-occurring disorders counseling from 2011 until 2021.
One scholarship award of approximately $9,000 is to be awarded to a graduate student with a demonstrated commitment to Counseling, Advocacy, and Research with underserved populations as demonstrated in essay, coursework and assignments.
Awards are generally split evenly between Fall and Spring semesters.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant must be officially admitted to Metro State as a Graduate Student in the MS in Co-occurring Disorders Recovery
Be a student in good academic and conduct standing
Registered for each semester(s) in which the funds are applied as at least a half time student (a minimum of 4 credits for a graduate student)

Submit an essay
Submit a letter of recommendation from practicum supervisor(s) or one core faculty
Essay Question:
Please submit an essay (minimum of 250 words) addressing the following essay questions/topics:
Describe your experience working with underserved populations and your hopes for working in counseling, advocacy, or research with underserved populations in the future.
