Arlington House Endowed Social Work Scholarship

Scholarship Description:

This scholarship is available to students with a Social Work major.

Arlington House is a nonprofit, established in 1970, with a mission to help youth in need improve their lives by providing shelter, counseling, education, self-sufficiency, skill-building and other services. Arlington House is located in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. In 2022, Arlington House discontinued operations. The Board of Directors chose to further the nonprofit’s legacy of serving at risk youth by creating an endowed scholarship fund for social work students.

Scholarship awards are generally in the amount of $5,000, and are generally split between Fall and Spring Semesters.

Eligibility Criteria:

Be officially admitted to Metropolitan State University by scholarship application deadline date
Be a declared Social Work Major
Must be registered for the semester in which the funds are applied as at least a half time student (a minimum of 6 credits)
Maintain satisfactory academic progress
Must submit an essay
Preference given to Ramsey County residents
Complete “Student Certification and Consent” form
Essay Question:

Please submit an essay (minimum of 250 words, addressing the following essay questions/topics:

How do you plan to use your social work degree?
