Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship Fund
Overview
Scholarship Description:
This scholarship is provided through the generous support of the Metropolitan State University Alumni Association. These funds support scholarships to graduates of Metropolitan State University who are seeking their second degree from Metropolitan State, either undergraduate or graduate. The amount of each award averages approximately $1,000.
Eligibility Criteria:
Be officially admitted to Metropolitan State by scholarship application deadline date
Be a graduate of Metropolitan State University seeking a second degree at Metropolitan State University
Be registered for a minimum of 6 credits (if undergraduate) or 4 credits (if graduate student) for the semester(s) in which the funds are applied
Have a Metropolitan State University cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
Must submit a current resume
Must submit an essay
Have not been a previous recipient of an Alumni Association Scholarship
Complete “Student Certification and Consent” form
Essay Questions:
Please submit an essay (minimum of 250 words, no more than two double spaced pages) addressing the following essay questions/topics:
Describe your educational plans and aspirations and why you are pursuing a second degree (include the reason why you chose to come back to Metropolitan State).
How have you been or intend to be involved in community service/community leadership?
An important component of Metropolitan State University’s vision is for its faculty, staff and students to reflect and support the diversity of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Please describe your experiences in diverse cultural or social settings.
How would you envision “giving back” to Metropolitan State after attaining your second degree?
Please provide a resume which lists your personal and professional accomplishments.

Qualifications
Applicant must be a graduate of Metropolitan State University seeking a second degree at Metropolitan State University.
Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
